Money's True Purpose: Exchange, Not Exploitation
This story is fictional, but I can tell the truth I understand through this story.
Me:
** Got some money after selling my gardening product **
Me:
** Wants to buy a meal that I have been wanting and craving for a long time **
Some people:
"No. Don't buy that. Save it. Just eat cheaply."
Me:
"Isn't money supposed to be the medium of exchange, to trade my products for the products that I demand?"
Some people:
"Err well, but that money can grow..."
Me:
"I don't think that way. Instead of earning compound interest – which is itself earning from trading for something we don't have – I'd rather return to pure human trading activities, which are not disrupted by manipulation and exploitation – such as compound interest."
Some people:
"Oh well, what? That's why you're not even a billi..."
Me:
"Money is a medium of exchange that doesn't have intrinsic value. Earning compound interest is not trading. It's exploitation."
Some people:
😲
Me:
"Oh, it looks like you are shocked by the truth.
I believe money's purpose is a medium of exchange to satisfy demand, not a tool for complex exploitation like compound interest. Prioritise human trading over endless financial growth.
